Family Threadz is the result of my personal journey through loss, grief and at times despair. Losing my parents much sooner than I ever anticipated was a profound shock. My father passed away four days after the birth of my only child, and my mother succumbed after a yearlong battle with blood cancer. Overwhelmed with grief, although I had support and comfort from family and friends, there was a gaping hole in my heart.

Feeling incomplete and purposeless, I struggled for the next few years. Eventually, I found solace in my husband's large, loving family, who had welcomed me into their fold 20+ years earlier. All too soon, I was again faced with the anguish of losing another cherished family member, someone I’d grown to love very much. Desperate to show this special lady how much I had grown to love her, by creating something for her to never feel alone during her end-of-life journey. I set out to find a product that would give her the feeling of her families embrace.

A blanket, adorned with the smiling faces of her family, containing memories from decades gone to current times. I'd hoped that when family were visiting, seeing a precious memory would spark conversation and this remarkable woman, who had now lost her sight, would engage and hold the spotlight as she always did at family gatherings.

Upon completing the blanket, a profound sense of connection enveloped me, igniting the birth of 'Family Threadz' and fueling my dedication and desire to create similar products for families worldwide to share the same feelings of connection with their loved ones.

'Lovey’s Blanket' now embraces her in heaven as a symbol of the enduring love the whole family holds for her forever in our hearts.
